Over of year of planning, design, bidding, contracting and coordination went into the 8 week execution of a major renovation for this tropical zoo facility.
A new skylight.
During our 8 week shut-down for this project we replaced all of the glazing in the pyramid skylight above a majority of the animal exhibits. Approximately 13,000 sq ft of glass.
New Restrooms
Also inside of our 8 week window, we brought in a general contractor to gut and renovate the aging public restrooms in the building. Third Space PM team lead the RFP and contractor selection process and was responsible for quality assurance based on the Zoo’s design standard.
Exhibit Upgrades
During the building shutdown, internal exhibit teams as well as external contractors executed repairs and equipment replacements to 15+ aquatic and tropical animal exhibits including a draining, re-plumbing and re-sealing a 10,000 gallon dive tank.
